    Job Description
    The National Sales Coordinator position is an integral part of both the Visit Mesa sales team and the organization overall. The National Sales Coordinator will be able to effectively manage a full work day supporting all sales and operational needs required by the Senior Director of National Sales. This position requires an individual that is enthusiastic, highly motivated, driven and who can work both autonomously and as part of a team. The position focuses on group sales support, from corporate and association meetings to SMERF and government conferences, while also handling other varied responsibilities as needed.
    The position reports directly to the Senior Director of National Sales, while also supporting the Group Services Manager as needed and as assigned. At times, this position will also support the front desk Concierge and the Mesa Visitors Center when staff support is thin and coverage there is needed.
    National Sales Department/Group Services:
    • Update and maintain current contact and client information within the Simpleview CRM database for all national sales accounts as required
    • Consistently follow up on all group sales leads and traces assigned by the Senior Director of National Sales
    • Plan and participate in familiarization tours and client site inspections as needed
    • Support client ‘meet and greets’ as needed
    • Organize welcome bags, signage and registration materials as assigned
    • Support the development of site and FAM itineraries based on client needs and preferences
    • Assist in researching and prospecting new client opportunities based on priorities and parameters established by the Senior Director of National Sales
    • Assist with follow up phone calls and emails for new and existing leads, as well as hotel pick up reports
    •  Report weekly tracking of all leads and bookings
    • Update posted weekly booking and leads on master board located in the office of the Senior Director of National Sales
    • Process expense and mileage reimbursement reports on behalf of the Senior Director of National Sales (as requested)
    • Update and maintain applicable monthly expenses within the Simpleview CRM database for National Sales and Group Services
    • Update and maintain Simpleview CRM database reporting into MINT database, upon group definite and pickup
    • Eager to ask questions to truly understand the reasoning behind specific goals and objectives – all in the effort to establish expectations and timelines for requested projects
    • Schedule, agenda and track Quarterly Round Table Sales Meetings with key hotel and convention center representatives
    • Create presentation power points as needed
    • Attend workshops and webinars related to both department and company programs /objectives
    • Serve as support for the Mesa Visitors Center, working closely with Concierge to ensure consistent Visitors Center coverage is satisfied
    • Respond to and mail client sales material requests
    • Attend bi-monthly staff meetings and weekly sales meetings
    • Organize shipping of materials for sites, FAMs, sales missions and tradeshows
    • Build and maintain positive working relationship with Partners, staff and clients
    • Review Visit Mesa website and report any issues directly to Senior Director of National Sales
    • Participate on select committees related to Visit Mesa’s Strategic Plan
    • Assist in the creation and distribution of client bid packets
    • Help identify training needs and areas of weakness in policies, procedures and systems
    • Maintain a working knowledge of Visit Mesa’s marketing and branding efforts
    • Familiarize yourself with all Visit Mesa Partners and their products
    • Keep current on all activities and events related to our regional partners Gilbert, Queen Creek, Tonto National Forest and Apache Trail attractions
    • Develop a working knowledge of our partnership model and the benefits we provide. Refer all prospective companies who may wish to formally partner with Visit Mesa to the Associate Director of Partner Relations
    The National Sales Coordinator is expected to adhere to all Visit Mesa rules of employment as described in
    the employee manual. All duties are subject to change.

    A minimum of two years’ experience working in hospitality sales or the meetings/events
    industry is strongly recommended. Familiarization with hotel and industry group sales is preferred. Strong
    sales acumen and business follow-up skills are required. Professional appearance and proactive
    communications skills are a must with clients and Partners. Self-starter, highly motivated and independent
    worker within a team environment are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including
    Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint are required. A working knowledge of Adobe applications is
    recommended. Strong written and verbal communications are expected.

    Full time, non-exempt position with full health benefits, as well as 401K opportunity
    Salary compensation (DOE)
    Required schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, minimal evening & weekend hours required
