In 1978, the Tieu family began their journey escaping from Vietnam. To safeguard their successes, they were divided and escaped in 4 separate groups. Over two decades later, they reunited in Pennsylvania, USA. In 2002 they opened Pho78 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
In addition to the aforementioned significance of the year “78”, their mother was “78” years old, their family had “78” immediate members at that time, and both brothers #7 & 8 are managing members. As a marketing campaign, unPhogettable was often used as their slogan. “UNPHOGETTABLE” was trademarked in 2007 and in 2008 unPhogettable opened in Mesa, Arizona at Mekong Plaza.
