MCC earns second Gold Healthy Arizona Worksites AwardJune 30, 2021
MESA, Ariz. -- June 30, 2021 -- Mesa Community College employee wellness efforts are again recognized with a Gold Level Healthy Arizona Worksites Award.
The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) evaluated MCC based on how it used the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Worksite Health ScoreCard as part of its evidence-based worksite wellness program.
Established by the Arizona Department of Health Services, HAWP is offered as a community benefit through the Maricopa County Department of Health. The program builds evidence-based healthy workplaces through training, tools and resources that employers can use to establish successful workplace health programs.
“We are honored to be recognized as a Gold Level Healthy Arizona Worksite for the second year in a row,” said MCC Associate Vice President Nora Reyes, Ed.D. “We are grateful to Gail Herndon for persevering through the pandemic to continue providing employees with resources aiding their personal wellbeing. We look forward to further enhancing our Thunderbird culture of health and wellbeing and restarting our on-campus mile-long group walk, the Mesa Mile, when we’re back on campus for the fall semester.”
