The Mesa Chamber Government Affairs Committee welcomed presenter Ty Howard, Chief Information Security & Privacy Officer for the City of Mesa to their April 15 meeting.

Ty covered a range of digital security related topics such as the types of cyber attacks that currently exist, the social and financial impact of cyber crime, and facts such as the average consolidated total cost of a data breach grown from USD3.8 million to USD4 million.

He also shared how organizations can impact their cyber security through an approach that involved more than simply their I.T. departments. The city reported that since tracking began in 2019, there had been more than 11,162,744 attack attempts on the City’s infrastructure.

The Mesa Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs meeting is held each month, and you can RSVP for a future meeting at the Mesa Chamber Calendar.
