In 2015, the Mesa Industry and Defense council was established upon the suggestion of former US Senator, John McCain, to better communicate the needs of the industry to elected officials and policy leaders. Since then, MIDC has convened regional partners as well as federal, state, and local officials to highlight topics concerning export issues, trade agreements, defense budgets, and federal policies impacting Mesa-based businesses.

With an established line of communication, Arizona’s decision makers are now able to hear directly from the MIDC and act as a trusted voice for the industry. Eligible candidates include manufacturing, aerospace, defense, and export-focused companies looking to find solutions to industry-specific issues. At its core, this committee provides an opportunity for members to exchange best practices, establish relationships, and boost the state of the community.
