Welcome from our 2008 Board Chairman, Jay T.
Roundy, M.A., D.P.A., Schaller Anderson Healthcare
-
Jay began his
term as Chairman of the Mesa Chamber Board of Directors January 1, 2008. Other
Officers are Chairman-elect and Vice-Chairman, Organization Council Steve
Wegener. Mr. Wegener is President and CEO of Talley Defense Systems in Mesa,
Arizona. The Organizational
Council is concerned with the business and overall financial strength of the
Chamber organization.
Jason Farnsworth, Jason Farnsworth CPA will be serving
as Treasurer in 2008.
Vice-Chairman Public Policy and Community Development Council, Paul Maryniak
of the Arizona Republic in Mesa, Arizona.
The Public Affairs Council is responsible for Chamber success at local issues –
legislative matters and public policy issues that impact the free market system
or affect quality job growth, education and economic development – as well as
public recognition for the Chamber. Committees falling under this organization
are – Education, Legislative Affairs, East Valley Chamber’s of Commerce Alliance
and the newly formed Candidate Awareness Committee.
The Vice Chairman of the Small Business Council is George Bliss, Central
Arizona Real Estate Specialists.
The Small Business Council continues to
foster small business through programs with human resource issues, state and
federal regulations, financial planning, etc. Members of these task forces plan
and develop programs that assist other small businesses. Committees falling under
this organization are – Winter Visitor Expo, Good Morning East Valley, Grow Your
Business, Network Tonite, Small Business Assistance (SCORE), Business to
Business Expo, Women’s Business Council.
Vice-Chairman Economic Development Council Lois Yates, of the Falcon Field
Area Alliance.
The Economic Development Council is involved in developing
programs designed to promote a healthy business climate within the community.
Past Chairman Eric Jackson, JacksonWhite Attorneys.
These Board officers form the Executive Committee of the Chamber along with
CEO and President Charlie Deaton. This group meets once a month throughout the
year to establish policy and plan out the Chamber’s program of work.
