The Mesa Chamber of Commerce organizes a number of Committees to advocate on behalf of industry clusters within the Chamber. Many of those committees meet monthly, and here is a summary of the month’s meetings.

Mesa Financial Network

Rich Adams of Credit Management Association and Steve West of Udall Shumway presented the results of the 2024 East Valley Economic Outlook survey recently conducted. Nearly 300 local business respondents contributed their information based on their vision of 2024 for their business. Leading the discussion was committee chair James Christensen on Gateway Bank.

The hosts pointed out a trend of optimism in the report.

Non-Profit Vitality Council

The first 2024 meeting was lead by Committee Chair Mark Young of the Mesa United Way. Staff Liaison Bob Nelson reviewed some of the plans for the Committee for 2024, including hosting a small “Meet the Non-Profit” Fair on site at the chamber the organizations for profit members to attend, and continuing the practice initiated in 2023 of allowing member organizations the opportunity to share a brief overview of their efforts in various meetings through the year. There was also discussion to create a member survey, to help the Chamber’s membership, and business community at large, define better how they interact and support their non-profit community.

Future of Retail Mesa (F.o.R.M.)

The meeting was lead by Staff Laison Bob Nelson, with a discussion of finding better recognition of the retail business community as well as the ongoing search for a Committee Chair. There was also discussion of how to promote the existing Retail Community to increase engagement from shoppers at large.
