Government Affairs: May 2025 Recap
This month, the Government Affairs Committee received a special visit from Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
Fontes spoke about the Arizona Business One Stop program, an online resource that helps individuals plan or start an Arizona-based business. Online tools include entity formation, tax licensing, and trade name and trademark registration, among other tools.
Similarly, Fontes touched on the Arizona America250 Commission. This included the upcoming launch of the digital app Passport250, which would feature Arizona-specific experiences. Such would include Hike250, Dine250, Cheers250, Treasures250, and others. The app would be intended not only for visitors but also for Arizona locals interested in exploring something new in the state.
Following the presentation, committee members received a monthly legislative update from Eric Emmert of Dorn Policy Group. The meeting concluded with local and national updates from the City of Mesa Vice Mayor Somers and a Representative from Congressman Stanton’s Office, respectively.
