Education Committee: May 2026 Recap

The Education Committee welcomed representatives from Mesa Community College this month for an in-depth presentation on the college’s workforce development initiatives and evolving career readiness programs designed to help students transition into meaningful post-education employment opportunities.

Dr. Cesar E. Becerra, Student Services Manager in the Applied Sciences and Technology Department, along with Adam Soto from Workforce Development and Career Services, shared insights into the innovative internship framework currently being developed to strengthen connections between students and local employers. They also highlighted several existing workforce engagement programs available on campus that provide students with hands-on experience, industry partnerships, and career preparation resources.

The discussion emphasized the importance of collaboration between education and industry in building a strong workforce pipeline for the Mesa community.
