Erica A. Calandra is the owner and funeral director of Desert Bloom Memorial in Mesa. Erica has more than 20 years of experience in funeral service and created Desert Bloom with the vision of offering families a more personal, intimate, and compassionate alternative to the traditional funeral home experience. We specialize in cremation services, personalized memorial gatherings, and guidance for families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
What makes your company unique?
Desert Bloom was intentionally designed to feel warm and welcoming rather than institutional. They focus on giving families individualized attention, transparent options, and the freedom to create a farewell that truly reflects the person they love. From intimate gatherings and personalized tribute videos to thoughtful keepsakes and veteran honors, their goal is to make every detail meaningful.
How has your company grown and developed?
Desert Bloom began as an idea to create the kind of funeral home that owner Erica Calandra felt families deserved—one built around compassion, flexibility, and genuine personal connection. She developed the business from the ground up, bringing together more than two decades of funeral-service experience with a fresh approach to how families are cared for. Our smaller, boutique setting allows us to remain highly involved with each family and provide an experience that feels personal rather than transactional.
What are you most excited about when joining the Chamber?
Desert Bloom Memorial is most excited about becoming more connected to the Mesa community and building meaningful relationships with other local businesses and organizations. Desert Bloom is a locally owned business, and being part of the Chamber gives them an opportunity not only to introduce our services to the community, but also to support and collaborate with the people and businesses that make Mesa such a special place.
